The pledge
Does Herzing find your clinical placement?
Herzing states that if you complete all required steps and still cannot secure a placement, it will step in and secure one for you.
Does Herzing refund tuition if it cannot place you?
No. The published remedy is securing the placement, not a refund. Any source saying otherwise is mistaken.
Which programmes does the pledge cover?
The APRN pathways: the nurse practitioner specialisations at master's and doctoral level, accelerated RN-to-MSN routes, post-master's certificates, and the master's in Public Health Nursing.
Which programmes are not covered?
Nursing Education and Nursing Leadership and Administration do not appear on the eligible list, and MSN Direct Entry is excluded.
When must I start the placement process?
At least two months before the clinical application deadline. Starting in your first semester is far safer.
How far can Herzing send me for a placement?
No distance is published. Herzing states only that sites are reasonably located to your area, subject to availability.
Money
How much does Herzing's MSN cost?
The MSN-FNP track is $770 per credit across 48 credits, about $36,960 in tuition before fees and books.
Is Herzing more expensive than Walden or Capella?
Yes. Walden's BSN-to-MSN runs around $27,000 and a fast Capella FlexPath learner can finish near $12,500.
Can I reduce the cost by studying faster?
No. Herzing bills per credit against a fixed programme length, so pace does not change the total. Transfer credit does.
What is transfer credit worth at Herzing?
At $770 a credit, every three credits accepted is worth more than $2,000.
Does Herzing accept employer tuition assistance?
Many health systems fund advanced practice study. Check your employer's eligible-institution list before choosing a school.
Admission and timing
What do I need to get into Herzing's MSN?
A current, unrestricted RN licence in your state of residence, or a multi-state compact licence, plus the usual transcripts and qualifying degree.
How many times a year can I start?
Six. Classes run year-round with scheduled breaks.
How long does the MSN take?
Five semesters, about 20 months full time for FNP, AGPCNP and PNP. Roughly 24 months for PMHNP, AGACNP and Women's Health. The published range across pathways is 16 to 32 months.
Can I study part time?
Yes, and because billing is per credit rather than per subscription period, a slower pace does not increase total tuition.
Accreditation and recognition
Is Herzing accredited?
Yes. Institutionally by the Higher Learning Commission, and its nursing programmes by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Which campus is my online MSN accredited through?
CCNE accreditation is stated per campus. The doctoral programme, master's programme and post-graduate APRN certificate are accredited at Herzing University - Madison.
Is Herzing a for-profit school?
Herzing operates as a nonprofit university. For licensure purposes what matters is its HLC and CCNE standing, both of which are current.
Will employers accept a Herzing degree?
It is accepted; CCNE accreditation is what boards and recruiters check. It is not a name that opens doors on reputation alone.
Inside the programme
What learning platform does Herzing use?
Canvas, the mainstream platform built by Instructure and used across a large share of American colleges.
Where do I find my grades?
Official grades and schedules live in Student Records, which is a separate system from the Canvas classroom.
How many systems will I be using?
Three: HU Login as the single sign-on front door, Canvas for the classroom, and Student Records for official grades and schedules.
Is the programme hard?
The coursework is demanding but conventional. Clinical placement and holding pace around shift work are what actually defeat people.
