Herzing's published commitment is direct: “If, after completing all required steps, you are still unable to secure your placement, we will step in and secure it for you.”
No other large online nursing school states it that plainly. The whole promise rests on the phrase after completing all required steps, which means the Clinical Guidance Process and every placement deadline attached to it.
What you have to do first
Follow the Clinical Guidance Process in full, meet every placement deadline, and open the formal process at least two months before the clinical application deadline. Herzing assigns a dedicated Clinical Placement Advisor and a Clinical Coordinator who is a master's-prepared nurse to work alongside you.
Missing a step is the ordinary way a nurse falls outside a commitment they were otherwise entitled to. The deadline is the most commonly missed, and it is worth treating two months as the last acceptable date rather than the target.
Compare it with the alternative promises
Capella states plainly that securing a preceptor and site is the learner's own responsibility. Walden will match you, but only after you have obtained denials from at least five qualifying sites on signed letterhead or a work-issued email address, which is a genuinely demanding evidentiary bar.
Against those, Herzing's gate is a process rather than a proof of failure. That is materially easier to satisfy and is the strongest single argument for paying its premium.
What is not written down
Herzing publishes no distance limit, no guarantee of the term you asked for, and no stated remedy if it also cannot place you. Its pledge page says terms and conditions apply as set out in the Graduate Catalog, and does not reproduce them.
So before you rely on the commitment, ask an admissions adviser to send you the catalog wording in writing. It is the document that binds, and it is not the one on the marketing page.
